The Gift
2001 · AMC Records
#44 Billboard 200
Released March 20, 2001 on independent label AMC American Music, The Gift was Bizzy Bone's first release outside the Ruthless Records system. Produced almost entirely by Darren Vegas across 14 tracks with no guest features and no skits, the album is a deeply confessional statement covering childhood trauma, the loss of Eazy-E, and spiritual identity. Bizzy layers every vocal himself, channeling raw personal honesty over soulful, R&B-tinged production. The album peaked at number 44 on the Billboard 200 and number 2 on Independent Albums. The track “Fried Day,“ also featured on the Next Friday soundtrack, is Bizzy Bone's most-streamed song on Spotify with over 20 million streams. Widely considered his finest solo work.
