Tha Waste Lands

2023 · JAM tv

Released on his 47th birthday, September 12, 2023, this entirely self-produced album on the JAM tv label is Bizzy's most solitary creative statement, with YBL Sinatra as the sole feature. Across 19 tracks the album covers familiar ground, street life, spirituality and social commentary, but several cuts stand out for their specificity. 'Hopi Tribe' draws on Bizzy's Native American heritage, rooted in time spent on a reservation during his traumatic childhood. 'Rip Pat Stay' is a tribute to Canadian battle rap legend Pat Stay, fatally stabbed in September 2022. The closing track 'BTNH Way' directly celebrates the group's East 99th Street renaming ceremony in Cleveland, which had taken place exactly one month earlier.

"Lil ripsta the scepter in my hand and the scripture, Abyss has sent your kisses back, I've done ran all out of liquor."
