Creepin on ah Come Up

1994 · Ruthless Records

#8 Billboard 200

The debut EP that announced Bone Thugs-n-Harmony to the world, released on Ruthless Records after Eazy-E had signed the group and helped shape their new name. Featuring their mentor as executive producer, it remains the only project the group released during his lifetime. Singles 'Thuggish Ruggish Bone' and 'Foe tha Love of $' established the template that would define their career, rapid-fire melodic flows delivered in tight vocal harmony over DJ U-Neek's dark, hypnotic production. The EP is laced with small details that reward close listening, including an intro whose opening lines are recorded backwards, and producer credits hidden in plain sight as 'Keenu Songs,' spelling U-Neek in reverse. Selected as one of The Source's 100 Best Rap Albums in 1998, it remains one of the most impactful debut EPs in hip-hop history.

"Gotta give it on up to the Glock-glock, Pop-pop, better drop when them buckshot blow."
