A Song for You
2008 · After Platinum Records
Released April 22, 2008 on After Platinum and Virgin Records, A Song for You was Bizzy Bone's first major-label solo album in a decade and his last. Part of a three-album Virgin deal signed in 2006, the album features Ernie Romero as the primary producer across most of its 14 tracks, with Mr. Lee producing the Twista-assisted single “Money.“ The guest roster is the most star-studded of his solo career, with DMX and Chris Notez on the title track, Joel Madden of Good Charlotte on the rock-tinged “I'm the One,“ Jim Jones on “Ballin',“ and Twista trading rapid-fire flows on “Money.“ The sound is polished and soul-sampling, a deliberate step toward radio accessibility without abandoning Bizzy's signature spiritual intensity. AllMusic awarded it four out of five stars, calling it his first end-to-end stunner as a solo artist.
"And when I feel so dam dirty dirty, By leaning on a leer jet, Baby ain't here yet, Henny, Caffeine, & nicotine, Notice I left out the green."
